Number 2 (Lufkin Land & Lumber Company No. 2, Baldwin Locomotive
Works January 1907)
#29900 was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works, January 1907, as
Lufkin Land & Lumber Company No. 2. The small locomotive served
on the Shreveport Houston & Gulf RR, the Carter-Kelley Lumber
Co, the W.T. Carter and Brother Lumber Co, the Scott & Bearskin
Lake RR, and now the Reader Railroad.
Number 7 (Victoria, Fisher & Western RR No. 7, Baldwin
Locomotive Works June 1907)
#31063 was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works, June 1907, as
Victoria, Fisher & Western RR No. 7. This small wood burning
prairie was sold from the Victoria, Fisher & Western RR to the
Louisiana Long Leaf Lumber Company, and then made its home on
the Reader Railroad. It has been in continual service as a wood
burning locomotive since it was built.
Number 4 (Laurel River Lumber Co. No. 22, Baldwin Locomotive
Works December 1913)
#40958 was built by Baldwin Locomotive Works, December 1913, as
Laurel River Lumber Co. 22. No. 4’s liveries have included the
Carter-Kelley Lumber Co, the W.T. Carter and Brother Lumber Co,
the Reader RR, the Mount Dora, Tavares & Eustis RR, and now the
Reader Railroad again.
